There's a lot of news to get to and there are a couple things that I would like to touch base on rather briefly and go into detail in the days to come. Also, the soundtrack which I am looking for (mentioned yesterday) is NOT the soundtrack featuring Ray Parker Jr., the Thompson Twins, etc. but rather the original motion picture score by Elmer Bernstein. If anyone can help me find it, please e-mail me ASAP, we're in need of it- like NOW! :)

One of my frequent e-mail buddies pointed out a note that I've only touched on here on GBHQ before, the fact that it was mere weeks before Ghostbusters 2 began production that Bill Murray signed a deal to make him a part of the film. I really think that this may be the case with Ghostbusters 3. He's waiting until the time is right... you know, it's all in the entrance right Bill?

Yes, Ghostbusters will be re-released in theaters, but I'm quite sure that it's not going to be in the Star Wars Special Edition style more like the recent re-release of "The Big Chill" in which a limited number of theaters in an area receive the film. No, there will not be any modifications done to the film's content, but technically the film will be restored.

Oh, and to the gentleman that e-mailed me letting me know that "iMac's suck" and "the iMac's are the worst computers that I've seen in my entire life." Take a look at the sales stats bub. iMac was the best selling computer of the fourth quarter of last year. And for your information, I get my work done twice as fast as you probably do. 'nuff said.

I normally don't like to do this, but if anyone has the Elmer Bernstein soundtrack CD for the original Ghostbusters film for sale, or knows where I can get one. Please e-mail me immediately. It was just brought to my attention that a copy was for sale on ebay, which means there are still copies floating around out there!

Unfortunatly, in my absence yesterday (Laramie, Wyoming really doesn't have much of a hockey facility I just discovered) Encore has begun airing Ghostbusters yesterday and I believe there will be one showing today. Check local listings.

I really like this quote from George Fenton when he was interviewed in a Moton Picture Musical Composer's magazine who's name escapes me now. When asked what was next [after his success with the soundtrack to "Youv'e Got Mail"] he said, "I have a couple projects which I'm very excited about lined up." Could he have meant Ghostbusters 3?

Reaction is in, The 15th Anniversary Site is one of the most popular areas of Ghostbusters HQ, find out what you've been missing by clicking here.

Finally, some non-Ghostbusters information, check out the latest Vanity Fair if you're really big on the Star Wars scene. There's some excellent images and a fine interview with George Lucas based upon the Phantom Menace. Reminds me of an issue of Rolling Stone which featured the GB crew.

You might have noticed that GBHQ's server was down last night. I'm assuming that they were doing some upgrades to the server because it's REALLY moving fast now :) I'm heading out of town this afternoon (Laramie, Wyoming... eewwe) but will be back Saturday afternoon for the latest GB news. In the meantime, take a look at the latest news updates and browse the archives below for the latest!

The new Menu Bar cometh- Thanks Jay Young for the old menu bar but the one that I was playing around with in Photoshop is finally complete. You will also notice that the 15th Anniversary Area has been opened to the public, please stop in and take a look and don't forget to enter your Ghostbusters memories, pictures, whatever's for the area. It's the 15th Anniversary Area, for the fans, by the fans.

I'm exhausted, all of these updates, especially GreeGoo!, The 15th Anniversary Area, and all the grphical changes to GBHQ have really wiped me out. I'll be posting more info tomorrow, promise that it will be worth the wait, in the meantime, check out the updates, especially the 15th Anniversary Area. It's well worth your time.

Good news and bad news. The good news is that I sealed a deal which will open up the GBHQ Online Store at the end of the month, featuring all the cool Ghostbusters collectables you can shake a stick at. Bad news is I stayed up so dern long last night that I was dead tired and didn't update yesterday. Being back from X-Mas Vacation really sucks.

But seriously in Ghostbusters 3 news, there's a strange rumor running around that a teaser trailer will be on the Ghostbusters DVD. Once again, Ghostbusters HQ is here to say, not true. Sorry wishful thinkers, but like I've said before; the 'net is like a sewing table, people see Bill Murray at a department store and automatically assume he's shooting a scene of Ghostbusters there.

The 15th Anniversary website will be making it's appearance tomorrow. Including your letters, graphics, and all the other cool stuff that you the Ghostbuster fan have sent me. Keep them coming!

According to my NYC bro, FaNBoy the date on the Film/Cinema Permit Dept. at New York City Hall has in fact been changed to now read "Spring '99" for on location filiming of Ghostbusters 3. This basically let's us know that GB3 won't be released until Winter '99 at the earliest. Great...

In other GB3 news, I'm actually happy that Bill Emkow's Ghostbusters.com domain is being bought by Columbia Tri-Star. It's nothing personal, Bill- but it let's us know that "something big is on the horizon."

A belated birthday wish goes out to GBHQ's main man Jason Marsden (Garrett on EGB) who celebrated his birthday yesterday. Happy b-day man! Thanks Marla for reminding me ;)

It's great seeing all the ideas that everyone has come up with for the 15th Anniversary. A new page will be added to Ghostbsuters HQ documenting the 15th Anniversary and will feature all your submitions! Send 'em in now! And heck, if your browser doesn't let you e-mail, send 'em to NetSolo@aol.com!

Thanks to all of you who jumped on the ball and started sending 15th Anniversary stuff for Ghostbusters HQ. Remember, this is a fan celebration by the fans, so every entry is welcome!

JDWRaptor reports that Dan Aykroyd will be at the House of Blues in New Orleans on the 30th of this month. Which might make GB3 production in NY interesting if it commences on the 22nd. I'm actually sure now that we will see the date pushed back being that the script is just now being finalized and contracts haven't been signed. Will my buddy at City Hall please take a look the calendar and let us know if the date has been changed? (Sorry, lost your e-mail).

Speaking of Ghostbusters 3, contracts are up at Sony for the 1999 production season. We should be hearing who's in and who's out officially any day now.

If you don't have the chance to come visit me in person at the Sony Factory Outlet in Castle Rock, Colorado you can actually visit us at the web now at http://www.sony.com/outlets. If you do have a chance, stop by and we'll switch GB on the big 16x9 home theater display and have a few laughs. :)

If you missed yesterday's New Year's speech, check it out. It made one GBHQ reader cry: "I've never realized how much we had last year until you summed it up incredibly last night. I found myself crying thinking that maybe Ghostbusters might die, then tears of joy after reading your optimistic view!"

I can't believe that I'm entering news for 1999 already. Tell me Ghostheads, did you party like it was 1999 this New Year's? It was. Anyhow, the past year has been a rollercoaster of a ride for Ghostbusters fans all over. First we're treated with the triumphant return of the Original Ghostbusters on the Extreme Ghostbusters television show. Then, we're saddened by the announcement that the triumphant return would also be the last original episode of the series.

As if coming to the rescue out of the cold night, the Fox Family Channel announces that when it launches in the third quarter of 1998, it will begin airing the Real Ghostbusters as part of it's regular "Toona Casserole" line-up. And once again, fans rejoice.

News of a third Ghostbusters film brought fans closer together and rumors started to gain attention spread like wildfire all over the wonderful "rumor-highway" we like to call the 'net. But word that Bill Murray would not be returning left Ghostbusters fans feelign empty and betrayed. Yet a glimmer of hope says that he will return to his roots and reprise the character.

Yes Ghostheads, it has been a trying year- but one which we all can honestly admit that we enjoyed. What will the New Year bring? One thing is for sure, it will be one wild Ectomobile ride. With the new movie and the hype surrounding "the year of the sequel." I for one am strapped in and ready to bust some head

Okay, not much of a news brief. But a pep-talk. I feel like Bluto Blutarski, sending the frat troops into the war. One thing is for sure this year- Ghostbusters will live once again, and Ghostbusters HQ will be there to cover the news as it happens, before it happens, and after it happens. And I also welcome your suggestions to ring in the New Year and celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Ghostbusters. I'm also taking your graphics, stories, and much much more to help celebrate this momentous occasion! Here's to you- the fans.
