The President's; Abe, George, and Bill... Clinton?

Hope that the President's Weekend is treating everyone allright and that the Valentine's holiday isn't getting you down. If you're missing a loved one, just remember. February 14th was also the date of the Valentine's massacre. That should liven your spirits. Anyhoo, here's the news to keep you going over the long weekend.

 Ramis to... gulp... retire?

Allright, I'm totally going to just shoot someone down here. Not because of hatrid (anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering right?) but there's someone spreading around a rumor that Harold Ramis backed out of Galaxy Quest because he wants to retire. Totally and all out NOT TRUE. Harold has not stated any immediate plans for retirement (neither did George Burns and look how long he went). Anyhow, don't believe what you heard about the Egonator retiring. It's just not true.

 DVD will be DVD-ROM enhanced

Annonymous tip from a good DVD pal is telling me that the Ghostbusters special edition DVD will be enhanced for those with DVD-ROM drives on their computers. What does this mean? Well, not a lot- just links to websites and other information right on the disc to point and click. See the Lost in Space DVD for a good example.

Yo, yo... Windows 95 sucks. - Doug E Fresh.

My main man, "BiggBoss" sent this in knowing that I'm a big Macintosh guy ( though I am guilty, I use one of our Sony laptops to do my script writing and other work on to travel, but my main computer is still proudly my iMac). Don't read if you Windows users are faint of heart, you might want to defragment your hard drive or clean out your registry files instead (grin).

Hey Net,

If you know the GB2 sound track you should know a song called Spirit
by Doug E Fresh and The Get Fresh Crew it recites:

Spirit
Some people hear it
Some people feel it
Spirit
Some people just wont go near it
As true as I'm me and you should know you are you
Spririt is the key to unlock the true you

Well , I made a variation with Windows 9x:

Windows
Most poeple use it
Most people fear it
Windows
Some people just un-install it
As true as I'm me and the sky is blue
Windows is the key to really kill you

Okay man, it was a stretch, but it made me laugh- so hey, here it is :)

ANNIE, ANNIE... ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?

Annie Potts' latest series being shown on Lifetime, the (cough, chick channel) is actually receiving incredible reviews and is featured in this week's Time magazine in which they call is "A rare example of goof feminism and smart, entertaining TV." for those interested, the show is on Tuesdays at 9p.m.

 RAMIS: Slim Fast Memories

Take a look at everybody's main man Harold Ramis as he hits the talk show circuit to promote his new film "Analyze This." Please note the lossage (is that a word?) of the extra pounds since we last saw him. Maybe he should direct a Robin Williams movie- that's like excercising at twice the speed Louis Tully style! Harold will be seen on David Letterman and Jay Leno sometime this month. Speaking of which, look for Bill Murray to be hosting Saturday Night Live this week to promote Rushmore. VCR's set to record Mr. Spengler!

GBHQ: SLIM FAST PART TWO

The News archives have been moved to their own page now to help loading times with the main page (Bigg Boss complains, "It takes .05 seconds to load on an ISDN!") You can find archived news here, or just click on "Archive" on the datelines. Cool, eh?

Drill a hole through your head, it's fun...

I'm headed out Saturday but will be back just in time for the update Sunday. See you then, in the meantime I recommend checking out the new site map as well as browsing through the areas for info that you just didn't know before.

 SNOWED IN!

Colorado was hit by a freak snow storm (grin) last night so I've got plenty of time to do a lot of things. The first of which being a posting of the "Fair Use" translation that was printed in an educational webmaster's magazine this month which I would like to share with you and all Ghostbusters webmasters. Basically, content which is hand-created and saved is copyrighted to the owner, but I'll let the article do the rest of the talking. I encourage other Ghostbusters webmasters to take a look and even link to the page if they wish (trust me, it hurts to retype the dern thing).

RAMIS' NEW PICTURE RAVED BY CRITICS

Harold Ramis' latest picture "Analyze This" starring Billy Crystal and Robert DeNiro is getting rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. Test showings have received positive feedback ranging from "Ramis' best since Multiplicity" to "Ironic satire at it's best." On the same note, Bill Murray's Rushmore (though skipped over at Oscar nominations) has won the hearts of "millions of registered voters" as Bill continues his constant comeback to the big screen. Come on Bill, come back to the Boys in Grey!

NEW FORMAT BRINGS FRIGGIN' HUGE HEADLINES

What do you think? I've been toying with the news page, and this looks like a pretty cool way to go. We'll see, let me know what you think!

SONY TO PRODUCE SW: EP 1 SOUNDTRACK

Well, it's not exactly Ghostbusters news, however it has to deal with my baby Sony (other than that special someone that is my wouldbe girlfriend, besides, they're the distributor for Ghostbusters right?) but Sony Classical will be producing and distributing the Star Wars: Episode One The Phantom Menace soundtrack. More information can be found at www.starwars.com and www.sonyclassical.com
