Wednesday, August 19th, 1998I've received a great deal of letters asking why there haven't been updated in a long time, the reason is simple. I'm busy as no other holding these jobs including my new Sony position, as well as I'm trasferring all of NetSolo Online (including GBHQ) over to my new iMac computer- yay! :)
Also, to the coward who sent me an annonymous message telling me that Apple owes their life to Microsoft and I should take down all Apple related items from the site- get real! Take a look at the stocks, they speak for themselves. And, the only reason Microsoft threw some money into Apple is because if Apple went out of business, who's ideas would Billy Gates steal?
Anyhoo, on with the news:
A new contest is available in the Contest area. This months prize is a double-whammy, the soundtracks to both GB films- crispy! Enter now! New sites opening as soon as I have my iMac up and running with PageMill will include The Online GB Store, the Real Ghostbusters area, the GB Fan Club's Grand Opening, and- the long-awaited Test Track in Egon's Workshop! Stay tooned Ghostheads!
Rumors about the Universal Studios Ectomobile being taken to Hollywood for "refitting" are false. My good buddy at USF took the liberty to deny these rumors for me. However, on a side note, those rumors about the trailer coming to theaters in Christmas look to be true. Remember the teaser for the first film? All we saw was the Ectomobile pulling out of headquarters and the Ghostbusters logo. (This trailer was later elaborated into the trailer containing footage from the film, which contained the unreleased GB theme song- as seen on the Criteron laserdisc and will also be on the GB DVD.).
Good sources tell me that Bill Murray's "people" have been in discussion with Sony Pictures about signing a contract for an "incredibly large-popular film sequel" later this year. In the same casting news, Sigourney Weaver will NOT return for a third film, and Annie Potts (Janine) stated on the Howie Mandell show that she's trying to get away from comedy... I sensed a "but" in her voice after seeing the interview on tape.
And, in TV News, Fox Family Channel is off to an incredible start, three episodes of Real Ghostbusters have aired so far, and I must say, I'm psyched. The episodes run were Monday: Ghosts R Us, Tuesday: Killowatt, Wednesday: Mrs. Roger's Neighborhood. You know how we always start letter writing campaigns when we want something? Let's make a difference and send Fox Family Channel our thanks for showing RGB! Write them at:

Hollywood, CA 90078Ghostbusters DVD news: Columbia Tri-Star sent me a letter yesterday describing the fact that they want to take their time on this disc and make it a true collectors edition. They also confirm that a third-party released GB on DVD overseas, this is not the edition with the remastered soundtrack, extra footage, and commentary tracks. They also tell me not to be surprised if a "ghost appears in your stocking this Christmas." Woo hoo! :)
