 TOP STORY- We claim shinanagans!

Well, with April Fools day behind us (whew, it was a doozy, I especially enjoyed the e-mail letting me know that the cast of Life is Beautiful would be in the new Ghostbusters film) I'm hoping that news will get back down to business.

Here's a quick peek at what to expect in the next week: official press releases from CTHV reguarding GB/GB2 on DVD, likewise with the fiscal year ending this past Wednesday for Sony divisions (including our store) it's time for the big wigs to start planning out the next fiscal year meaning; you got it, new film release date scheduling. Oh boy!

In local GBHQ news, this week will debut the new newsletter for the "Official" Ghostbusters Fan Club including announcements of the new staff (Janine Melnitz, from my staff), as well as the re-opening of Ghostbusters International, in a different genre all-together. The former GBIN area on GBHQ, which used to house links to websites, will now become home to an all-new role playing game! Whew, all this and news will be archived tomorrow for loading time's sake, my goodness!

 Wondering what Rudoff's up to?

Paul Rudoff, Ghostbusters HQ's main man over at Spook Central hadn't updated in a while- those that wondered what was going on were surprised when the site was taken down for rennovations. Well it's back, check it out (after you finish here at GBHQ, of course) ;)

 Again, only at GBHQ!

You thought that puppies looked frisky? As development on our animated series GB2120 continues at a rapid pace, the designers have come up with the design for the King Terror Dog. Planned by the creative forces on the GB2120 staff and then rendered by GBHQ's main 3D wrasler Jay Young, GBHQ is proud to present the King Terror Dog in all it's glory.

Click the image to see the full rendering (and not just the taste), and you'll see that not only does the GB2120 project have heart, but the tools and talent to back it! You know, I bet you need one giant pooper scooper to follow that pooch home with. . . wonder if New York has some sort of ordinance against dogs with wings?

TOP STORY- More on Ghostbusters DVD info

Sheesh, people can't appreciate humor, the April Fool's Day joke bombed, many people just though I was smoking crank, oh well. Better luck next year. Anyhow, More websites are popping up with confirmation of the Ghostbusters/Ghostbusters 2 DVD release on 6/29 including the Digital Bits and my personal fav, the dvdfile.com. Oddly enough, Bill Murray's Rushmore is also scheduled for a 6/29 DVD release. . . hmmm. . .

 Long hours make Troy sleepy

Well, I fell asleep at the remote last night and missed the Late Late Show with Bill Murray last night, would anyone care to contribute multimedia?

 Winners announced Saturday

Winners of both the "Name the Newsletter Contest" and those who applied for writing positions on the fan club newsletter will be notified via e-mail on Saturday, and names will be made public Sunday. Many of you had excellent ideas, thanks to all who participated!

UPDATE- 3:38pm- Sheesh, nobody understood the April Fools Day joke, either that, or way too many people have calendars. Yes, I was aware that the date was wrong on GBHQ, but hey- made you look! Happy April Fools!

TOP STORY- April Fools Day bites

Okay, I think that I'm the only one on the face of this earth right now that just absolutely hates April Fools Day. Please, no more e-mails telling me that you're Dan Aykroyd and want me to star in the new GB film. No more e-mails that Elvis really isn't dead, and for God's sake, no more e-mails telling me that Ghostbusters 3 was showing in LA this week (you unoriginal *explitive deleted*). Anyhow, on with the news, no April Fools crap here. This is, like, the anti-April 1 website today. And to the moron who thought yesterday was the first, send me your address, I'll send you a Ghostbusters Datebook- April Fools!!!! (Gads, I'm evil- I am evil Homer, I am evil Homer!)

Murray invades the new Late Late Show

GBHQ's main man Craig Kilborn, who takes over the Late, Late Show for the corpse, er, Tom Snyder had Bill Murray on his program last night. Being that, in fact, the title of the show does not lie, and it's on friggin' late, I've taped it and will have the skimmy and media online tomorrow.

 DVD Release Date Confirmed

Yes, that long rumored release date for Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II has in fact been confirmed as 6/29. Don't fret, it's not that far away, we can tide ourselves over with Star Wars until then. . . tide ourselves over- what an understatement.

 Aykroyd "devoted to Ghostbusters"

A publicist for a highly reguarded Hollywood trade paper (I'm surprised this guy knew who I was) contacted me yesterday informing me that he's learned that Dan Aykroyd is devoting long hours toward Ghostbusters 3, and the rest of the time, he is using to spend time with his family. "I get the feeling that he holds a new Ghostbusters project in the highest reguard and will most likely be his baby for the next year or so."

 TOP STORY- Only on GBHQ

Jay Young, the most incredible 3D animator that I've had the pleasure to work with has sent Ghostbusters HQ this exclusive first look at Dexter Spengler, one of the lead characters in our planned Ghosbusters 2120 show. Dexter is not your ordinary Spengler, in fact, he's more Venkman personality wise than the Spengler clan of old. How's that for a change?

You can view Dexter in full Ghostbusting gear, right here, right now, only on Ghostbusters HQ. And those with sticky fingers, notice how I said ONLY here on GBHQ? You get the idea- no copy and paste plagarism here boys.

HQ visitors, we hear you loud and clear

Overwhelming response to yesterday's Kenner vs. Trendmasters, the ultimate battle for the Ghostbusters 3 franchise rights all seems to point to the same direction, the fans want Kenner back on the Ghostbusting scene. However, I did receive some other rumored licensees including Toy Biz (who I know doesn't have the license, sorry guys) and McFarlane Toys (wouldn't THAT be cool?) I'm still looking for official comment on the license situation. . . PLEASE?!?

 Sorry

Sorry guys, I've been working on finishing this term paper the last three hours and am a little burned out. There'll be more tomorrow, in the meantime, don't forget, your vote counts in The Ghostbusters Domain's Ghostbusters Acheivement Awards! Vote smart, vote s-mart... :)

 TOP STORY- High speed Bustin'

Rob Cleaton (Bustin' Makes Me Feel Good) approached me with an interesting offer today, and well, who should say no to such a talented filmaker? Anyhoo, to make a long story short, Ghostbusters HQ is proud to be the new host to his short film spoof Bustin' Makes Me Feel Good- and thankfully, GBHQ's server is a bit faster than xoom (I say that sarcastically). Check it out in the Downloadable Media area! Take heart Bustin' fanboys, I have a feeling this is not the last flick from Cleaton.

You thought he was just Winston

Not only is Ernie Hudson our beloved Winston Zeddemore, he's also father to Michael Jordan! Chek him out on the Fox Family Channel's Michael Jordan bio-pic on April 15.

 Ghostbusters 3 licensing information

It appears that we have a conflict as to which company owns rights to a future Ghostbusters movie's action figure lines in the near future. I've been told that Kenner was promised in 1989 that they would be the premiere company for future films, but Trendmasters claims that it now owns all rights to the Ghostbusters franchise. Would anyone out there in toyland care to comment?

 "Well I love you too."

Thanks for all the hate mail this week- glad that my services to the Ghostbusters community haven't gone unoticed by all the boneheads on the 'net. Why don't you put your talents to useful applications and send hate mail to Bill Gates?

TOP STORY- DVD Artwork appearing soon

I've been notified that within the first couple weeks of April, pictures of the Ghostbusters/Ghostbusters II DVD cover will be available to some websites- I'm hoping that since I got the message, Ghostbusters HQ will be one of those websites.

 Make love, not war

Sorry, had to work this in somehow- I know that millions have died in Yugoslavia, there's not a doubt in my mind that what is being done is being done for a reason. I just hope I don't get drafted.

 Hudon Online Chat- talk!

Ernie Hudson will contribute his typing skills to another online chat in April to promote his drama Oz. In case I miss it, make sure that if you go you mention Ghostbusters 3 seven or eight (thousand) times and let me know what he says ;)

 Sleep Solo, sleep. . .

Sorry for the lack of gnus- I've been working on two term papers due next week all day today and honestly really need some sleep.

 TOP STORY- DIVX Sucks

Okay, whoever the cutie-pie is that's spreading rumors about Ghostbusters being on DIVX too, "SHUT YER FRIGGIN' CAKEHOLE!" I speak on behalf of Sony when I state that Sony has never, will never, and wouldn't touch DIVX (spit) with a ten foot pole.

 Solo going Psycho over rumors

Despite reports which have been spreading through radio news and BB's Vince Vaughn (a.k.a cool in the Lost World, ate it hard with Psycho) WILL NOT be in Ghostbusters 3. I believe that he has a film contract with Universal, and uh- well, Vaugh in GB? Come on- Bruce Campbell I can see (begging down on his knees!)

 Cure to Murray Withdrawl

Check out his film "The Razor's Edge," one of the most deserving movies ever for an Oscar nomination, and perhaps Murray's finest acting work to date. It will be airing on Showtime this week and on sister stations later in the month.

Vote- get me an intern (hold the Monica)!

You know, President Clinton may be on the way out, now's your chance to vote NetSolo- 2000. Well, not really but hey- vote for Ghostbusters HQ in The Ghostbusters Domain's Ghostbusters Acheivement Awards. Hey voting is more fun than eating waffle on a stick, give it a whirl.

In case you were stuck in an elevator

And had to make the whole time. . . Check out the scoop which seems to be causing quite the stir on the internet- New York City Hall's department of Film and Video has placed on their dry erase board "October" as the scheduled shooting date on-location for Ghostbusters 3. Oh, and in case you're too busy playing rock paper scissors (fun game, I enjoy using boomstick, good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun), take this into consideration, the source is an intern at City Hall... wonder if he's met Lenny?

 TOP STORY- Got Ramis?

Ghostbusters HQ is proud to present (finally) the scans of the People Magazine interview with Harold Ramis. It is available in three sizes, wee, not so wee, and friggin' huge! Check it out in Ghostbusters Seen and Heard.

 Ghostbusters come out of closet

Nope, not another Telletubby rip, just a clever headline- Ghostbusters HQ has learned that an official statement will be made from Sony Pictures available concerning Ghostbusters 3, the re-release, the DVD and just how they're hyping the "year of the Ghostbusters" next week. Ghostbusters HQ will have the full skimpy including screen shots from the release (if it happens [grin]).

The HQ gets a little press

Welcome visitors from Ain't It Cool News and The Mustang Express- wow, all these people mentioning Ghostbusters HQ- overwhelming! (Note to visitors and self, news really needs to be archived tomorrow... bad).
