TOP STORY- Moron, er more on "It all begins in October"

Ghostbusters HQ was first to break gnus yesterday that filming on GB3 will begin in October on-location in New York, since then I've received numerous claims from people who say they've been approached to be an extra in the film. The interesting thing is that all of the people that have mentioned so all describe the same scene as described on Hollywood Online, people being poked into a river of blood by little devils. Hmmm... really gets you thinking- the other thing that gets me thinking is that most of the people that I've responded to to "confirm" their association, don't have a clue that they have to be registered union members with the SAG Extras Union in order to "be approached" to be an extra. Otherwise, technically- they'd be in the right place at the right time and aren't guaranteed any on screen time. Sound familiar original Ghostbusters extras?

Godzilla ice cream is good, too bad about the movie

Okay, maybe I shouldn't rip on Godzilla being that my parent company was responsable for the disaster, er movie. But some of you might remember this from Ghostbusters HQ a while back, and will the recent Ghostbusters 3 rousings, I find it appropriate to post once again. In the tradition of Star Wars' little prank to mock Godzilla, Rverbit and I came up with this poster design for Ghostbusters 3. It's very fitting for the film don't you think? Check it out- hey, ONLY on GBHQ!

 Ramis picts tomorrow

GBHQ's "minion" (should I start calling them Ghostminions, Castewar?) at People Magazine was unable to "get around to my pictures" of Harold Ramis in People Magazine this week. He promises me that he'll have all three versions in the mail tonight for me to post tomorrow. Sheesh, can't find good help anymore can I J? ;)

TOP STORY- It all begins in October

Ghostbusters HQ is proud to be the first to report that filming on location for Ghostbusters 3 in New York will begin this October. This info comes from my main man down at the NYC City Hall who snuck another peak at the infamous scheduling board in the Film and Video Dept. and low and behold, the date is now more specific. Ladies and gentlemen. Strap in- Ghostbusters HQ is about to take you on one wild ride.

 PBEM, who knew?

My announcement yesterday concerning starting back up the Ghostbusters PBEM (Play By E-mail) Role Playing Game received unprecidented response from everyone from Ghostheads to D and D players, I've received the blessing of just about everyone that they are interested in doing this. I'll come up with some basic stuff in the next few days and open up an area here on GBHQ by the end of the week. Thanks for the feedback!

 Analyzing Egon

People Magazine has a great short interview with Harold Ramis in this week's issue. They cover how he and his kids have been to therapy, etc. The powers that be at People Magazine will be sending me a high res scan as well as some other shots for the page that will be posted later tonight.

TOP STORY- Harry digs the GBs

My main man Harry Knowles over at Ain't It Cool News has posted the Ghostbusters 3 scoop from Harold Ramis speaking of the plot dealing with hell being overpopulated and no longer having vacancies- enter the Ghostbusters to tangle with the devil. I like it already. But, alas there are those on the "Talk Back" section that feel that a sequel is a bad idea, and they whine, and they groan about Ghostbusters 2 being an inferior sequel. Why don't us Ghostheads hop over and let those whiners (no to be confused with winners) know whats up! :)

 Ghostbusters PBEM Group @ GBHQ

I'd like to start this back up- anyone remember how the old one was run? Drop me a line, I'd like to create and operate a new Play By E-Mail Role Playing game being that it seems Bill Emkow's has ceased to exist. I think that it was an interesting and fun aspect of bein' a ghosthead.

 "Now we become one"

Many have noticed that my sister site which was co-created with Paul Rudoff, Egon's Workshop, has disappeared from Ghostbusters HQ's regular line-up. The reason is simple, I am integrating Egon's Workshop's components into GBHQ. You will notice that some of the features are now finally online again, for example, the Occult Reference Net (see the menubar), as well as all the multimedia has been added to the media libraries (also on the menubar). Now you can find MP3s of all three Ghostbusters soundtracks as well as more EGB WAVs in the GBHQ Media Libraries. As well as hop online to the Occult Reference Net and look up your favorite spook or the blueprints for your favorite ghostbusting gear. Once again, only on GBHQ. And, as you can see- I've been working my butt off again on this page and it's paying.

TOP STORY- Let the chaos begin

Few things bring about a rollercoaster of emotion in my life, the Oscars present one of those such things. Memoriums to Stanley Kubrick and countless other performers and filmakers that have passed on in the past year left me speechless at the end of the ceremonies. The power of film is strong, and with it comes responsability. Anyhow, I get off on the wrong subject. The Oscars present a monumentous turning point for the progress on Ghostbusters 3, as now we reach the pinnacle for studio's announcements for upcoming films. Indeed, I have been assured by the powers that be, that we will be hearing a great deal about Ghostbusters 3 in the next week or so. And, while my aspirations reach that of a filmaker, my current situation makes me your reporter, and I will fulfill my duty to the very best of my ability in maintaining my reputation among the fan community- considering it an honor. Okay, enough of me babbling, on with more gnus.

Script approved, casting to begin shortly

Folowing the announcement earlier this week, Ghostbusters HQ has learned that the script for Ghostbusters 3 has been approved and deemed ready for production and casting for various roles and contract negotiations are to begin shortly. Public announcement of the film's beginning to see the light of day will be announced in trade papers as well sometime in the same week.

 DVD to be DVD-Rom enhanced?

More technical news on the upcoming Ghostbusters/Ghostbusters 2 DVD release, it seems that the disc might be one of Columbia Tri-Star's first DVD-Rom enhanced discs offering features such as weblinks and interactive games. This has not been officially announced and comes from a new source, so, as always- a grain of salt is necessary and proper. :)

TOP STORY- EGB Boxed Set... busted

First reported at protoncharging.com while I was on vacation, the Extreme Ghostbusters boxed set has been pulled from Columbia Tri-Star's catalog as well as pre-order lists from dealers online and abroad. It seems that CTHV has rethought the process in which it will be distributing the videos, and won't offer any of it's series' in the "boxed form." On another note, those who haven't caught the promotion for EGB on home video, you can see it on the VHS rental versions of The Mask of Zorro, and if you feel like putting up with Antionio, stick around for the movie.

Print is Dead, but the script is done

Venkie has scooped me with Dan Aykroyd's latest quote in the Toronto Sun (how come my Canadian friends always get the good media?) ;) Anyhow, here's the what he had to say: Dan Aykroyd revealed that the third Ghostbusters script that he and Harold Ramis have been working on and off of for the last few years is done. "It's ready," he said. "But if we are going to make it, Harold Ramis and I might have to take less to give Bill Murray more."

 Ghostbusters 3- Greenlighted?

I've received a tip from one of my minions (thanks Castewar, I think everyone'll be a minion from now on... "hey minion, I mean, mom") that it appears that Ghostbusters 3 will be given the greenlight (film lingo which means to begin the process of production, contracting, etc.) within the next few weeks. This being so, Dan Aykroyd's quote in yesterday's news ("We'll know by the end of the week") from ET would make more sense.

An honor just to be nominated

Hey, I've been alerted that there's a little Oscar party going on over at The Ghostbusters Domain, and Ghostbusters HQ is nominated for some serious awardage- check out the GB Domain!

Holy Rennovations Batman!

Well, I've heard the complaints that the page takes too long to load loud and clear, Ghostheads. So I spent all of the night and well into the morning "rennovating" the main page's look (hey, it's been like, what, two or three months?). But a webmaster's gotta do, what a webmaster's gotta do. Oh, and no- you're not seeing things- you're not the lucky one. I've decided to open up the Online Store just to show what it will look like. The legal mumbo-jumbo on there is still not the "real deal" so I can't open the entire area up yet. Apologies. What do you think? I'm not sure, it's 3a.m. I think a mime in a Santa Claus suit would look good to anyone working on this much sleep.
