TOP STORY- Ghostbusters 3 featured in EW again?

Neil over at the Forgotten Ghostbuster has told me that there supposedly is an article in this week's Entertainment Weekly which mentions Ghostbusters 3 again. Unfortunatly, I didn't get this issue yet! Anyone have the article and care to help a Ghosthead out?

 Interview with the artist

 TOP STORY- Toronto nods again

Proton Charging and the Ghostbusters Domain picked up on yet another article from the Toronto Sun mentioning Ghostbusters 3. Which proves my theory. Germans love David Hasslehoff... I mean, Canadians love Dan Aykroyd. Click here to take a peek at the article.

A well-respected review

Steve over at the well=respected and frequently visited DVD Resource has posted a brief review of the Ghostbusters DVD. Glad to see that he agrees with the rest of us. Reference quality, 'nuff said.

 TOP STORY- CD still MIA

Those of you still trying to find the Ray Parker Jr. CD (myself included) you're not the only ones, seems that none of the stores released it on New Release Tuesday, opting to release it at a later date. Why? That's what I'm trying to find out. Anyone with information, please contact me.

All Good Things...

Well, as they say, all good things must come to an end. Unfortunatly for me, last night I lost the most beautiful woman on the face of the planet. Sorry guys, I really just don't feel like updating a whole lot today. JoG will return tomorrow. Promise.

TOP STORY- Where the $#@! is the CD?

Wow, Ghostheads across the country, including yours truely are having difficulty finding the new re-issue of the Ghostbusters single by Ray Parker Jr. and his band Raydio. After doing some detective work, Target stores here in the CO area have the disc in their computer, but show it as not arriving until late next week at the earliest. Best Buy had never heard of it, they were too lazy to look it up, and Blockbuster Music pointed me to Borders, who, yes, had it in their system but already had it as "Unavailable on backorder." Egads- let's hope Amazon.com delivers it on time to the good ol' mailbox. And then there was Circut City... I couldn't believe that I actually went in there, but I did and the salesman ended up talking about the first time he saw Ghostbusters and then was called into the back. Thanks for answering my question, glad you got the sale- bonehead. Once again, Netmeister remembers why he avoids Circut City.

Journal of a Ghostbuster

Ghostbusters HQ is proud to present Journal of a Ghostbuster, a 12 part series with a new entry each day starting today detailing the life of Dr. Raymond Stantz in the time after Ghostbusters II leading up to Ghostbusters III. Please note, JoG is a fan based entertainment concept and in no way "spoils" or gives away information reguarding to the plot of Ghostbusters III.

Mmm... DVD's

Remember yesterday's quote of the day about a dog chewing up his DVD case? GBHQ's main man Steven from the upcoming Ghostbusters Slime Time website provides these pictures of his feisty puppy's handywork as well as the temporary case that he's constructed to house his beloved Ghostbusters DVD for the time being. The best of luck to Steven (and his dog) on retrieving a new case. . . sorry, couldn't help myself). Click here to view the mayham!

TOP STORY- God I love being right all the time

Okay Ghostheads, remember GBHQ's scoop not all that long ago about the re-mastering of some of the tracks of the Ghostbusters soundtrack as well as the release of Elmer Bernstein's classic soundtrack? Part one has come true, part two is still up in the air. Ray Parker Jr. and Raydio have remixed the Ghostbusters theme song to be included on a special edition single disc containing the original, the remix, and the instrumental version. GBHQ's source also claims that there will be one more track, most likely a second dance remix similar to the one featured on RPJ's album back in the 80's. It's going to be released tomorrow, GBHQ is being told that Target, Best Buy, and Blockbuster Music will definitely be carrying it. You can pre-order it through the GBHQ online store here with a credit card and insure that it will be there tomorrow. More to come, MP3's to come, it's all right here baby, yeah!

Cinescape, the sourge of Carpathia

Gads, I hate to love to love to hate (if that makes sense) Cinescape Magazine. They're one of the top leaders in gab from the Sci-Fi realm in Hollywood, and they're not run by a bunch of Trekkies so that really helps keep them from biast articles. But once again, Proton Chargin' has pointed out that they continue to slam sequels (even though their magazine is filled with information about them) through this article. While well written, I think that Frank Kurtz was just plain having a bad day. Check it out, make sure you've got something to drink before diving into this one.

GBII sales lackluster

  H. Goldbaum from EBX sent me a nice lengthy letter letting me know that while he's having trouble keeping the Ghostbusters Special Edition on his shelves and has customers ask multiple times a day for it, he can't seem to sell copies of Ghostbusters II. "I think that the consumer knows that it's not exactly a special edition and doesn't have all the extra goodies of the first disc." He goes on to state, "Columbia has raised the bar in expectations for DVD content and defeated themselves by the lack of special features on the sequel's disc." In my own personal opinion (and for God's sake, it has to be worth something) the disc is worth owning just for the widescreen and P&S versions, two previously unreleased versions- how special can you get?

It's all about the Tunes man.

GBHQ is proud to be the first to report the opening of Tunes.com- take a look at this page for some cool brain candy Ghostheads- on demand Ghostbusters. How cool is that?

 TOP STORY- DVD unseated

Sales this week of the Ghostbusters DVD have been far from disappointing, Columbia Tri-Star reps are triumphing at the success of the disc. However it's been unseated from the number one spot on sales charts this week by Will Smith's film Enemy of the State. As soon as the Smith blockbuster fades down, look for the DVD sales to shine again.

Net covering event

I'll be back this weekend, I'm off to Steamboat to cover their annual Hot Air Baloon Festival for a local newspaper (don't you love being a photographer?). See you all on the other side!

TOP STORY- Off to see the wizard

An all-new season of Ernie Hudson's acclaimed show OZ begins on HBO this Wednesday at 10pm Eastern/Pacific. Ernie dons a bit more facial hair than usual in the first episode- but let me tell you, the show just keeps getting better and better.

Re-Opening Notes

Special thanks to all of you who came out to the re-opening of our Sony store in Castle Rock, CO. Tim, David, Marshall, Matthew, Shawna and all others who mentioned seeing me on GBHQ! Keep checking with the store for a demonstration of the Ghostbusters DVD on some of the most modern equipment on the market. And by the way, it feels soooo good to tell customers that DIVX is dead. Somehow I knew I'd be telling them that.

Dan's goal in life?

I received an e-mail from a gentleman who claimed to be from an independent Canadian newspaper (to which he never gave the name of, go figure) satating that in a recent interview with Dan Aykroyd, Aykroyd told him that his original dream was to "have both Blues Brothers and Ghostbusters be well rounded out as a trilogy." If you're reading this mystery gentleman, please e-mail me, I've lost your address and have many questions for you, more specifically want to know your newspaper's name and where I can get a copy.

Your comments here

Hey, you- yeah, the bimbo with the mouse- :) GBHQ would like to hear your comments- send em to NetSolo@aol.com or fill out the nifty e-mail form. Make sure you include a return email addy so the Screamin' Netmeister can respond to YOU!

TOP STORY- A pirate's life for me

Jack, my main man in the Big Apple has reported that among the bootleggers selling the Star Wars Phantom Menace video and other assorted high demand products, he spotted one "dealer" selling the Ghostbusters DVD, bootleg form of course, for 2 dollars. Guess that it must be to a point where sold out stores are meeting their match... buyers beware, GBHQ does not condone bootlegging, and for one simple reason, the "DVD" Ghostbusters that they are selling, is a low-quality VCD lacking all the extras on the DVD- a print of the old laserdisc edition. Ech.

Grand Re-Opening...

Colorado residents, take I-25 south toward Colorado Springs and visit the grand re-opening of the Sony Outlet in Castle Rock and their new ultra modern store, which, will be showing the Ghostbusters DVD for the majority of the day. If you really want to see the disc as it was meant to be seen, the store will be showing the DVD on a fully digital HDTV within the next couple weeks- stay tuned to GBHQ for more.

Chat... sorta kinda.

I grit my teeth and hope that Bill's worked out all the kinks to keep the pencil necks out of it, but he's reopened his message boards with an all-new "hack free" reprogram. Check it out, remember- maturity... that's all I'll say.

 TOP STORY- Murray in US

Check out the August 1999 issue of US Magazine for a great pic of Bill Murray in golf attire... Cinderella story coming out of nowhere. It would be placed here, but legal complications have arisen with the good ol' US publishers.... hmmm...

DVD receiving rave reviews

Don't take my word for it. Take a look at the DVD Resource and the DVD File.
