| Why Fox Family gave Real Ghostbusters
da boot |
| |
The Forgotten Ghostbuster,
Neil Vitale has this from the world of Gozer:
SILVERHAWKS (Mar 5, 2000) Sorry, no SilverHawks were on last
night, but CN may start to show it on the March 18-19 Toonami
Midnight Run. If it doesn't show up there, then expect it to
be shown later this year unless CN changes their mind. One of
the reasons why SilverHawks may have not been on over ThunderCats
is that it takes alot of time and money to edit the show for
today's current commerical lengths. This
is why FOX Family Channel did not show the complete run of The
Real Ghostbusters. CN must edit out 30 seconds to a minute
of each episode. Also ThunderCats is more popular that SilverHawks.
Hopefully they will air all 65 episodes and air the cool theme
song! (offsite link)

 Many
of you know that I'm a sucker for Ghostbusters custom figures,
take a look at this one, a 12 inch version of Ray constructed
by Joe the LA Ghostbuster. Way cool eh? Check out his website
for more pics and stats on the figure! (offsite link) |

| More on paranormal being hip
and popular again |
| |
Okay
Sony, you saw the article in Movieline magazine that we posted
here on the HQ right? How about the fact that an entire episode
of the popular, critically acclaimed, Golden Globe and Screen
Actors Guild award winning Sopranos is running an episode based
almost soley off the supernatual this week in which "ghostbuster"
is mentioned several times. Sheesh, the writing's on the wall. |

| Is anyone out there listening
at Sony? |
| |
Check this out
from the March issue of Movieline on page 30:
"Supernatural projects have to
be just about the hottest thing going in Hollywood right now.
(ed's note, gads do I need to say
more, HELLO SONY!!!?!???) With the
Blair Witch Project and the Sixth Sense having become box-office
mega smashes and with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer soon
to spook up the screen in Robert Zemeckis's What Lies Beneath,
Hollywood is hot to make flicks in which things go bump in the
night."
You know what Sony Pictures, if I have to make it any more
clearer, I think I'd have to broadside you with a Mack Truck
with it to get the point across. Thanks be to... hey, I found
this one- heck credit to myself for once! ;)

Yes,
there is a Playstation 2 game out there that has a Ghostbusters
selection in it called "Stepping Selection" (rough
translation). It's basically like the MTV dance music game where
you create mixes of various songs. Check out the screen shot here. US gamers,
just wait this PSX2 thing is going to be big... the size of a
Twinkie. (Thanks be to Nick for the scoop). |

AMPGH brings the
HQ this little tidbit of info:
****** HOLLYWOOD FREEZE FRAME ******
March 1, 1984:
The Box Office competition got slimed
when, GHOSTBUSTERS
haunted theaters, giving ectoplasm the chilling respect it
deserves. Meanwhile, "I am the Gatekeeper...Are you the
Keymaster?" became the secret handshake phrase for anyone
walking the streets of Manhattan after 4 a.m.
So, yes Virginia, someone at Sony still cares about the Ghostbusters.

| Taking care of business... |
| |
Well, yes- I was
in Washington DC for the Close Up Foundation last week (all last
week) and Neil and Brandon were going to take care of the updates
for me, but something went awry and alas, no updates. So, here
to bring you up to speed on what happened over the week is GBHQ's
main man Brandon:
INNER DEMONS (The GBHQ student
film)
Greetings fellow Ghostheads. Dr.Stantz here. I'm here to bring
you the latest updates on the production of Inner Demons. We
are currently still working on the Special Effects Makeup and
Creatures for the film. They're turning out nice and I know you
will all be pleased.
We are also currently working on more locations for filming.
So far, we have scouted out some pretty cool locations.
SPOOK CENTRAL (The Ghostbusters
themed haunted house in CA)
We have currently begun working on the blueprints and construction
possibilities for this years "Spook Central". At the
entrance, visitors will enter the Ghostbusters Training Center.
Here, you will learn all about different types of Ectoplasm,
different classifications of ghosts, and tons of other hands
on exhibits. And don't forget, you'll get to meet the guys.

Tony,
aka Cinsound sends in more wisecracks from the USF Ghostbusters
crew: "Also last month at USF, the
Ghostbusters visited the monster cafe to take PKE readings, and
after finding one of the guests "possessed", proceeded
to extract the "Ghost" from her brain in a hilarious
fashion using an odd contraption they wheeled in. After the it
was trapped, you could hear the "ghost" rattling around
in the "portable containment unit". Actually, I saw
them do something similar last year as a pre-show to Beetlejuice."
Cool, eh? Egon, you genius you. |

| Cinescape
responds to poll |
| |
GBHQ's main man
Zuul over on the GB Message Boards
posted this yesterday:
I emailed Cinescape about their poll.
Here's what I wrote:Hey just look at
the results.
> Ghostbusters is winning. Not by much,
> but it shows that there is still a lot
> of interest in GB3. Even for the
> people who voted for the other movies,
> I bet the vast majority would also go
> see GB3. You guys need to send the
> message to Sony that they're fools for
> turning this down.
Then today, I got this response:
Most of the studios check our site daily. I'm sure the surprising
showing of Ghostbusters didn't go unnoticed.

The
thing is, Universal Studios Florida still has "no comment"
on a new Ghostbusters show, so this'll remain word of mouth,
but GBHQ has got the full skinny on the new "traveling"

| Now for something completely
different |
| |
Just
out of curiosity, did anyone see that Batman commercial at the
end of the Beach Boys movie last night? I have to say, that's
the first time that I've been excited about Batman since Batman
Returns. Now if a commercial director can make that cool of a
Batman commercial, what does that say about the ability of Joel
"I haven't done anything good since Falling Down" Schumacher
to single-handedly destroy a film franchise? Anyhoo, off my soapbox.
But I'd still like you guys' thoughts.
Oh, and did anyone notice both Kurt Fuller (Jack Hardemeyer)
and Kevin Dunn (World of the Psycic) in the show? It was a 1989
evening! |

GBHQ's
main man Brandon has heard that a new "traveling show"
featuring the Ghostbusters and Slimer (minus Beetlejuice) is
now touring Universal Studios Florida.
Congrats to the guys for making it out on their own again, we're
in the process of getting pictures and descriptions of their
adventures! |

Hot off the release of their teaser trailer which
shows that they mean business (and made a statement surrounding
the Blair Witch, Smare Witch) the Inner Demons crew sends in
more behind the scenes photos from the production of the actual
film (which will have NOTHING to do with Blair Witch) including
some cool photos of the wardrobe and a pic of Ray and Peter in
full gear ready to bust some head. |

The
talent behind Ghostbusters: Inner Demons are proud to present
the "trailer" to their film (though the trailer has
nothing to do with the plot of the film, it does make a statement).
Better head over there now, and if you don't have QuickTime, better make a slight detour to
download the latest version. |

Many
people have been asking about the theme song that I used for
the beginning of the Interdimensional
Crossrip video series. It's the first track from the album
"Peep" by Finnish group Rasmus. Well,
it's available on CD (no, I won't post an MP3 in respect to the
aspiring young authors without their permission) but you can
import it here through Amazon (offsite link)- |

for the technical difficulties- unfortunatly I set the upload

and not the whole thing. The teaser, in it's entirety is online.
