Forget MIT or Stanford, they wouldn't touch us with a ten meter cattle prod
Psychology professor Dr. Robert Gordon ain't afraid of no ghosts. As he hooked up his jet black Mac G3 laptop to the lecture hall projector, the students didn't know what was in store for them. "Back when I first saw this movie, I never knew I'd be using it as a teaching tool," Gordon speaks of a little film we've all come to know and love as Ghostbusters. "Well, except for the end with the mashmallow guy," he continues with a smug grin.Gordon uses Pete (Bill Murray) Venkman's Vialto test (take it yourself at Proton Charging) as a demonstration of how scientists create hypotheses and then test them, shown by Venkman's clever way at also picking up on a young co-ed. Also a brief snippet of Dean Yagar's lecture to the aspiring Boys in Grey about their sloppy methods and being poor scientists is shown to students in Wright State's Oelman Room 109.
"I think it's great that he makes references to Ghostbusters and Austin Powers in his lectures, it keeps us students motivated and interested when subject material would otherwise be incredibly heavy," WSU freshman "Matty" stated to GBHQ.
So we may not be seeing another Ghostbusters film for some time, but at least we're making a statement, Ghostbusters is still alive, and being used to teach the young. One thing's for sure, this WSU student enjoyed the lecture. - Troy
The Effect? Is that you're final answer?
Ghostbusters on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Nope, it's not another Murray ploy at more attention, but rather the $4000 question asked on Tuesday night's episode of the popular show. GBFF's Doreen has video clips and wav files available on her site. - Troy (c/o Doreen)
Letter of the Day
Q. I enjoy GHOSTBUSTERS HQ it a great place to find anything about GB. I would love to know if you anything about RGB coming back to TV or if it will ever happen. I love the Cartoon its the best I've seen.P.S. Who You gonna Call? We Know the Number. - LOUIECGRAPHICS
A. Louie, so far what we've heard is rumor and more rumor. Fox Family Channel supposedly has discussing bringing the series back to their line-up though there are no immediate plans for anything to happen. Many faithful Ghostheads out there have been petitioning to Cartoon Network for the popular cable channel to pick up the show to it's line-up, but again, nothing concrete. Unfortunately the only way to enjoy the series for the time being is on home video. Do you have a letter or question to ask the HQ? Send it to netsolo@aol.com and it might appear here on the main screen! - Troy
