And a cheer arose from the masses
Check it out, we're back online (in most of the world, still coming online slowly elsewhere) and it's a beautiful thing Ghostheads. If you reading this you're probably feeling the same as I am- pure excitement followed closely with a hand on your hip saying "it's about time." Good news, start expecting the daily updates to start again tomorrow when I'm sure that we're back online world-wide! In the meantime, run- don't walk to Hot Topic and pick up some new Ghostbusters threads while you still can. Word is that they're selling fast! - Troy

It's turning into one of those "road movies"
Well Ghostheads, you knew that it was coming. Unfortunately I've been so tied up in preparing everything for the move the HQ has been neglected the past couple days, and the site will be in the hands of Contributing Editor Neil Vitale until Monday or Tuesday when I report back to you from the new digs in Ohio. While I'm gone I can't encourage you more to check out the message boards and interact with your fellow man (hey, a little social interaction will be good for ya!). See you all in five days! - Troy

Blues Brothers co-star passes away
I'm shocked that I haven't seen this on any of the other sites, and while it's not Ghostbusters related, it's Dan Aykroyd related so it might as well be reported. Once again I regret to inform the GBHQ viewers that Kathleen Freeman (Blues Brothers, The Beverly Hillbillies) passed away of lung cancer on August 23rd. First voice-talent great Lorenzo Music and now Mrs. Freeman, incredibly tragic. - Troy

Interdimensional Crossrip Monthly starts shipping Oct. 1
You asked for it, you got it! I'm pleased to announce that the Interdimensional Crossrip, official e-zine of Ghostbusters HQ will return to the popular monthly format beginning in October. As before, we will be holding "auditions" of sorts for writers that would like to contribute columns and pieces to the e-zine, as well as recruiting artists to work on art for the online editions which will be exclusive to subscribers. What? You haven't subscribed yet? Have you gone mad? Go to the ID main page now and get that email address in the database, stat! Information on would-be contributors will be made available upon my arrival in Ohio. - Troy

Labor Day Weekend, September 1-3. 2001

Ghostbusters mention on radio station
Ghostbusters HQCE Neil Vitale reported in this evening with a scoop on a local radio station's mention of Ghostbusters. Here's Neil with the details:

95.5 WPLJ New York had a trivia question the other day in which they asked "In 1984, what artist did Huey Lewis sue for plagiarism?" Of course the answer was Ghostbusters, and they played a bit of the GB Theme, followed by the whole version of "I Want a New Drug." As we all know, Mr. Lewis did not win and was countersued for mentioning the lawsuit just this past year. - Neil

Ghostbusters.net promos delayed again
Ghostbusters.net's own webmaster Chad Paulsen is still brewing up the goods for the GBHQ exclusive look at the new site. Hopefully we'll have it online Tuesday! - Troy

Labor Day Weekend vacation
The weekend designed to end the summer of 2001 (I leave for school this coming week on the east coast folks) I'll be roughing the backcountry in beautiful Colorado this weekend. Please enjoy the weekend update, don't forget to take a look at the boards. I'll be back to my regular updates and board posting (on both GBHQ and the VA boards) Monday evening. Have a good weekend everyone! - Troy

More low blows to the Ghostbusters 3 optimists
Reports came in from all over the Ghostbusters HQ minion circuit last night about various postings about the ill-fated Ghostbusters 3 project. Empire Online posted an interview with Sigourney Weaver which in turn spread like wildfire to Dark Horizons and Cinescape in which Weaver states: "As for a Part 3, that's highly unlikely. I think our bustin' days are long gone - we'd be a very sorry bunch of very old ghostbusters now." This is definitely interesting considering that previous reports mentioned that Weaver wanted nothing to do with the project in the first place. Thanks be to Cinsound, Maverick, Rdebs, and Garth. - Troy

Ghostbusters.net promos go MIA
Apologies, the promos mentioned in yesterday's update were actually slated to be released for this weekend's large Labor Day Weekend update. If you went to the Countdown site and saw nothing new... uh, happy late April Fools! - Troy

Cleanin' up the town, Ecto style
The REAL Ectomobile pops up from behind the vaults of Sony over at The Ghostbusters Prop Archive. Got Maul scored some images we don't know how, maybe we don't want to know how, but it's definitely worth a look (off-site link). Thanks to Ectoman for the scoop. - Troy

Letter of the week
Coming in a bit late this week is a comment from the infamous Mr. Brown (Michael Dequina) who has a widely-known entertainment website at www.mrbrownmovies.com (The HQ posted an Evolution review from Dequina June 7, 2001)and also writes for Film Threat and Digital Widescreen to name a few. He comments "Just wanted to say hello and thanks for the props over at the VA Board... Anyway, your site is great as well." Thanks for the mail, what an honor receiving such praise from someone like Mr. Dequina! - Troy

Update irregularities
I'm working on getting the site some fiber into it's diet to make the updates more regular again (ba dum dum ching!) Unfortunately, having to get ready to move from coast to coast and back again in the span of three months is taking it's toll on myself and the site. Again, the site will not be updated September 8-10 as I move out to Ohio and again will not be updated The first week of December as I move back to the Rocky Mountains, and yet AGAIN in Mid-January when I move to Los Angeles. Thanks for you patience, Ghostheads! Thanks for all the support that you've shown the site! - Troy
