STORY: Ghostbusters HQ changes it's ways to set the
standard
You may have noticed that the HQ hasn't been updated in a little less than a week, and all for good reasons, frankly there have been some wild stories in the media and I've been trying to assess the situation for the past few days. I'm embarassed, I'm ashamed, and I'm sorry for what has turned out to be one of the site's biggest blunders in which I will not go into detail about here on the main news page but will explain in full in my first column.
However, I will state here on the news page this, from this point forward, I am enforcing and strictly following the new Ghostbusters Headquarters Code of Ethics, a simple statement based upon journalism standards and ethics on this site and promise that the change will be for the better. I have faith that a Ghostbusters site run by multiple people handling multiple aspects can and will succeed and this code will ensure that.
Also I will take the time to apologize here on the news page for those that may have been misled by Ghostbusters HQ's Rialto event. Though yes, GBHQCE Brandon Keleyla and other familiar faces were on the spot for the showing, the terminology was confused and mangled in translation of news from California, to my home office (and the real HQ for Ghostbusters HQ in Colorado) where the event was NOT GBHQ Sponsored, however should have been dubbed as Ghostbusters HQ endorsed.
Though a finger cannot be pointed at one person, I accept full responsability for the miscommunication and also extend apologies to anyone involved or effected by this misnomer of an event. I also urge you to read my column for my viewpoint.

Bill Murray Game for Comedy
August 18, 2000 5:52 am EST
By Michael Fleming
NEW YORK (Variety) - Bill Murray will star in the game-show comedy "Press Your Luck," with writer/director Howard Franklin set to start shooting by year's end. The script is based on the true story of Michael Larsen, who, after becoming a victim of the corporate downsizing of the early 80s and losing his job as an ice cream truck driver in Lebanon, Ohio, got hooked on watching the daytime game show "Press Your Luck." Eventually he learned that one could memorize the 1,300 patterns on a prize board that determine whether a contestant racked up a lot of money or was eliminated by drawing a "whammy." Larsen got on the show and wound up becoming the top winning contestant of a daytime show, raking in more than $100,000 to the disbelief of the producers and host. The project was originally bought and developed by Columbia from a pitch. Despite the current game-show fixation, Columbia put the film in turnaround and five suitors bid. Paramount-based Mandalay got the upper hand. Nicolas Cage will serve as a producer. Franklin co-wrote the 1997 comedy "The Man Who Knew Too Little," which starred Murray.(GBHQ editor's note): Bill's preview for his new film Charlie's Angels can now be seen preceeding many major films in theaters.
Duchovny Eyeing 'Evolution'
Cinescape Online link here
David Duchovny continues to move away from The X-Files and towards a career in films with word of his possibly joining Ivan Reitman's Evolution movie project. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Duchovny is currently only in preliminary negotiations to join the cast of the ensemble science fiction comedy. The eventual film's story is about a meteor striking the earth and releasing one-celled organisms that quickly morph through evolutionary states threatening our planet in the process. Back on June 29, Reitman revealed that a final draft of the film's script was on the verge of being finished. That script, as written by David Diamond and David Weissman, would bring the director back into the domain of genre comedy, with Reitman saying, "These kinds of movies are hard to do because you are mixing serious and comedic elements. You have to walk a careful line, but when you get it right, audiences seem to like it a lot, like Ghostbusters. I hope to find the right mix for this." As far as Duchovny is concerned, this project would certainly seem to better establish the actor as a prominent Hollywood player, provided he and the rest of the cast aren't drowned out by the film's special effects courtesy of an as yet unspecified "big budget." Duchovny is the first actor officially mentioned for the film. Duchovny has previously worked with the director (sorta) in Beethoven, which Reitman executive produced.- Troy (with source Cinsound on the scoop)
Cartoon
Network's Johnny Bravo gets busted
GBHQ source "N. Hope" submits this testimonial:
I was watching Jonny Bravo on Cartoon Network on Friday, August 18. And Jonny's house was possesed by a ghost. It took Jonny Bravo's favorite comic book and wanted it back. Jonny and his friend suited up as ghostbusters to get rid of the ghost. It was really funny. They were wearing cheesy outfits. And they called their guns plasma beams. When they were firing, they crossed the beams crossed each other and theire living room exploded. Jonny said "Maybe we shouldn't have crossed the streams." It was really funny. My friend and I got a kick out of that episode cause they also played a part out or Poltergiest. If you haven't seen it, they should play the episode again soon.
