STORY: Total Film mentions Ghostbusters 2 in latest
issue
The UK magazine Total Film mentioned Ghostbusters 2 in their large section on X-Men describing "Liberty Hell," the here's the GB2 snippet:
INTERNALLY BASTED WITH SLIME
Film: Ghostbusters II (1989)
There you stand, symbol of freedom when along comes a Transit vanload of guming Saturday Night Live refugees. Who splurge your insides with pink goo, play Jackie Wilson at full wack and command you to walk. Which, let's face it, is not the most obvious way of countering ultimate evil from The Other Side.
Liberty Taken: Humiliation, Deep, abject humiliation. And athlete's foot.- Troy
Ivan
Reitman's next
This from the same issue of Total Film:
Ivan Reitman, who basically invented the idea of high-concept comedy with Ghostbusters and Twins (not to mention the unmentionable Junior), is at it again with Evolution.
The film will condense five billion years of human development into a one-month time span, with the added twist that it takes place in contemporary America. In true Ghostbusters stylee, three dudes and a lady will make up the central cast, but the real star of the finished flick could well be some special effects of the cutting edge variety: Reitman reckons the film would have been impossible to make 10 years ago.
Whatever the end product, the premise alone registers high on the Rough Cut curiositometer, and at least it postpones Reitman's long-cherished plan to direct a musical, the still-bubbling-in-development Wish.- Troy
Two
Ghostbusters "fanumentaries" in the works
Finally today, two documentaries based on Ghostbusters fandom and the essence of being a Ghosthead are in the works. One by Rob (Bustin Makes Me Feel Good) Cleaton which will feature interviews with fans, webmasters, and more (more on this one tomorrow) and a second called Fanboys, which follows the nature of a Trekkies type film which revolves around three guys and a week in their sci-fi/fanboy geekdom. Stay tuned here to GBHQ and the GBHQ Filmmakers area for more information. A short clip from Rob's film will be available tomorrow as well as more information on the film. - Troy
