STORY: August 2000 issue of Premiere is "spooktacular"
Ghostheads, Harold Ramis' new film "Bedazzled" may be as close to Ghostbusters 3's "hell on earth" premise that we'll be in a long time, might as well relish the fact. However, check our the latest issue of PREMIERE Magazine and count, yes, count how many references that there are in this single issue to Ghostbusters and/or it's cast and crew. Of major note is Harold Ramis' article "Hollywood's Seven Deadly Sins" in which he writes;
"#2. Anger: Some directors approach their work like prizefighters ready to beat the shit out of anyone stupid enough to question their judgment, make a mistake, or get in their way. I won't mention their names(Bill Friedkin, Jim Cameron, Michael Bay, Oliver Stone, I'm not talking about you), but they are holy terrors who rule like absolute monarchs, intimidating cast, crew and studio alike."
Also of note is sin number 4. Avarice in which Ramis writes, "Caddyshack II. Enough Said."
There are no mentions of Ghostbusters 3, however both these items of note appear on the opposite page of a great photo of the guys (Ramis, Murray, Aykroyd, Hudson, and Reitman) on the Ghostbusters II set. This appears on pages 43 through 45.
On page 47 there is speak of none other than GB director Ivan Reitman pitching the new Harry Potter film as a comedy and being rejected and ultimately booted from the project for Chris (Home Alone) Columbus to direct.
Last, but not least, on page 67, check out the great characature art of Bill Murray as many of his lines make it into the "99 Movie Lines We Can't Live Without" including the great GB line, "Dogs and Cats living together! Mass hysteria!" among other classic Murray "gems."
All-in-all Ghostheads, this is a great issue for the thirsty Ghostbusters fan, pick up a copy while you still can and forget what Cinescape wrote in their August issue. - Troy

Magazine says GB3 coming out "never"
I've never liked Cinescape Magazine's attitude toward a third Ghostbusters film, but at least it's getting print attention now. Check out their Coming Features section toward the front of their latest issue (X-Men on the cover). Ghostbusters 3 is listed, finally, albeit in Development Hell with a release date of "Never." It also reiterates the Ramis and Reitman comments that we've heard earlier that they just can't work out a deal between cast and studio as well that Bill [Murray] wouldn't do the project unless Venkman died and returned as a Ghost. If that's not enough, Corona's Coming Attractions has changed the status of the film (until further notice) to dead. Sorry Ghostheads, it's not looking promising. - Troy
