America's Top 40 Countdown Flashback last night!
If you weren't listening to Casey Kasum's Top 40 Flashback last night you seriously missed out! I just happened to tune into the countdown and heard that they were flashing back to 1984 and sure enough: number 1 for the "third consecutive week," Ray Parker Jr.'s "Ghostbusters." Man it was good to hear CK introduce "Ghostbusters" on the air again. Best part? The Netmeister got it on tape and will gladly be posting it online tomorrow! Speaking of Ray Parker Jr. if you're in the Rocky Mountain region, check out Denver, Colorado's "Taste of Colorado" festival Labor Day weekend. RPJ will be playing live and for FREE followed by a grand fireworks display and the best food Colorado has to offer! No guarantees that he'll play "Ghostbusters" though, from what I hear he really avoids playing it live. - Troy

Evolution premiere date and toy information
GBHQ minion Ryan LeClair did some detective work and discovered from a rep from FOX Kids that the Evolution spin-off "Alienators: Evolution Continues" will air beginning September 8 at 11:30am (EST I believe). Also Ryan reports that in the latest issue of KidScreen Bandai toys confirmed they will be releasing a line of toys based on the series. No date announced as of yet (and Evolution was a no show at Toy Fair) but it's likely the figures should hit in time for the Christmas rush. - Troy

Scariest Places on Earth
Just a reminder to Ghostheads about the FFC show "Scariest Places on Earth." Usually, they have families that are either scared out of their wits, or are dead serious about the whole thing. This time around, however, they had a familly that took it all in stride, and had a sense of humor about the whole thing. For those who manage to catch it the next airing, I found the first half of the show rather humorous. But, I guess it all depends on wether or not you believe in these things in the first place. Also, I didn't catch his name, but listen VERY closley to the segment where one of the sons is talking to the 'lady ghost'. I swear I can hear a soft voice as well, assuming they didn't add it in post-production to try and give you a feel of what he was sensing.

Since, as many of you know, Dan Aykroyd is a Card carrying Ghost Hunter member himself. I still say they should do a one time only Celebrity edition of the show. Get together the 7 main cast members, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Harold Ramis, Annie Potts, Sigorney Weaver, and Rick Moranis, and send them to the 'Scariest' place that they can find. I think it would be extremly interesting to see their reaction to 'real life' ghosts, and it would provide a lot of publicity for the show itself. Anyone else out there reading this have any contacts (or know someone who does) that can help get the word out?

In other real life Ghost news, here's something else I thought would be rather interesting to add to the site. Around the country/world, there are different Ghost Hunting scocieties. Groups of people who investigate reputed local haunted houses, with cameras, Video Records, EVP recorders, etc. I thought it would be interesting, sometime around October, to get a group of Ghostbuster fans to join one of these groups in their local area, and go on a Ghost Hunting Expedition. If the thing becomes popular enough, we can have it once a month, and post evidence from their results such as pictures, video, and sound files.

What does everyone think of this idea? - Neil

Letter of the week
A bit delayed (should have run Saturday, here's the GBHQ letter of the week):

Hey Troy, My name is GeOt1s (BA). I visit your site every day. I got to tell ya, It is great! I like the daily updates on ghostbuster related material. It would be even greater if you would make short videos like the interviews you made before. Or better yet, have a short film contest. Just an idea I had. Well, keep up the great work! - GeOt1s

Hey BA! Thanks for the letter! Indeed it's a rare occasion to find a website dedicated to Ghostbusters that updates its material on a daily basis, a feature that Ghostbusters HQ prides itself on. Actually, we did have an idea to conduct interviews via QuickTime video and there are a few online in the Live Interdimensional Crossrip area. More are coming, we promise. It's just been a while (ask the band Staind).

As for a short film contest, I think that's a great idea as well... The HQ'll get to work on something and let you be one of the judges, how's that sound?

Do you have a comment or question for the HQ staff? Send it along, it might just be featured like BA's!- Troy
