Sound familiar?
The Hollywood Reporter has a scoop on an upcoming Universal Pictures movie scribed by Dan Schneider as a sci-fi "action comedy" that involves a group of disenfranchised teenagers against an alien menace. Sounds like Evolution with a bit of Ghostbusters right? But according to the Hollywood Reporter scoop on August 16 the film is "in the same vein as Back to the Future." Huh? Sounds to me like it's another Ghostbusters/Evolution rip-off, how does Back to the Future work into all of this guys? - Troy

Scooby's got a buster's kinda feel to it
GBHQ minion LCrew13 was surfing the newly redesigned Cinescape website and came across a quote from cast member Matthew Lillard stating that "It [Scooby Doo] has many of the same kind of elements Ghostbusters has. It's funny and it has big demons, and we're saving the world." The ol' NetSolo shouts out a huge "Uh-Oh" at the sound of this considering I don't have much faith in the success of this new Doo flick. Don't get me wrong, I dig the Scooby Doo cartoons but Freddie Prinze Jr.? If this thing tanks and the cast keeps referring to it as a "Ghostbusters-like" comedy you can sure bet that studios (like Sony Pictures for starters) will take notice. The whole article is here on Cinescape's site. - Troy
