Daily Variety mentions Hollywood's metamorphosis since GB
This article was printed in the August 12 edition of Variety and I've been meaning to post it for some time now. In a nutshell it describes how Hollywood has changed from the days of Ghostbusters, where a film had longevity at the box office for eight weeks to the "One-Weekend Wonder" where films have to do well on their opening weekend or risk being dismissed as trash. It's really a great piece that makes me miss the days when films like ET, Ghostbusters, Batman, and Indiana Jones would be tops at the box office for months on end. It also provides a little optimism for GB3 considering that Bart's "production chief" insinuates that studios are willing to shell out the dough now (and mentions Men in Black 2... hmmm). The HQ has the full article by clicking here and viewing it in our vast news archives. - Troy
