Evolution Animated Series on the way
GBHQ Minion Cinsound chimes in with this report:By Andrea Haman March 2001 Page 52
Fox Kids has high hopes for a DIC Entertainment series hitting the air this fall just weeks after its predecessor, feature film Evolution, debuts in July. DIC has picked up the animation rights to the release starring David Duchovny and Orlando Jones, and is producing 26 half hours in association with DreamWorks and Ivan Reitman's The Montecito Picture Company. It's an adventure-comedy much along the lines of Reitman's Ghostbusters franchise, but this time, the heroes must battle a fast-evolving alien organism that threatens life on Earth. The series will kick off on Saturdays in September. - Troy

Hey man. I know that hits are down, which really sucks when you consider the great redesign that you just did, so I thought I would write again presenting my idea for a push for Ghostbusters comic books. Since GI Joe, Transformers and other hits of the 80s are the in thing for the moment, I can see no reason why a Ghostbusters comic would be a difficult idea to propse. Looking at the all out lack of possible movies, which also sounds the death bell for any future cartoons, it looks like the printed page in the last oasis for the Ghosthead to get their thirst quenched.
Ghostbusters has always been a visual medium, a comic seems to be the best chance to keep Ghosbusting somewhere in our popular culture. Since the comic book population is full of those that love the movies, combining those numbers with the number of pure Ghostheads produces a large enough number to sell the book in large numbers just from its name alone. Combine that with a great bunch of creators (J. Michael Strazinski, one time RGB writer is now in comics, which could mean he would return to the boys) and the book would be huge. Also, since GB3 is basically dead in the water, how about finally starting on the RGB page, when you get a chance. Take it easy man.
Well Fatman, the comics would certainly be a good idea. A lot of fans are still also pushing to see a new TV series or film that is completely 3D animated (stay tuned for monday's update for more on Ghostbusters: New Generation). But a new book based on the Boys in Grey would definitely be a welcome addition in the community.
As for the RGB area, I'm still chugging along. Though there are already excellent RGB based websites out there, I don't want to compete merely give people a glimpse of things that they can't see on other pages (as we've done with the EGB area) and needless to say, with all the great material on the 'net already, that's a difficult task. Station! - Troy
