Where are they now? - Interactive Studios
Remember the Ghostbusters II Activision games on the PC? Did you ever wonder what happened to the development company that was behind probably the most advanced "official" Ghostbusters game ever released? They're still around (albeit under the name Blitz Games) and are currently working with tie-ins to The Mummy Returns. You can check out the UK based company's official site at www.BlitzGames.com - Troy

Favorable Evolution review mentions Ghostbusters
Though commercially, the film didn't do as well as expected, many people viewed the film as a return to the comedic styles of the late 80s. . . and it was a welcome one. People magazine on June 25, 2001 said of Evolution, "Call it Ghostbusters 3. Director Ivan Reitman, who did the first two Ghostbusters, once again pits joke-cracking scientists against nasty creatures, only this time alien critters are the enemy." However, one particular review stood out in my mind, that of Mr. Brown's Hollywood Website. For the full review mirrored, click here. - Troy

Extreme Ghostbusters director's commentary (sort of)

More information on this and much more as Extreme Ghostbusters Production Supervisor Shannon Muir spends more time with GBHQ discussing little known facts about the short-lived cartoon series. Sigourney Weaver gets personal on Inside the Actors Studio
If you've missed the several broadcasts on cable's Bravo Channel of Inside the Actors Studio featuring Sigourney Weaver, it's definitely worth a look. For those of you less fortunate and aren't able to view the broadcast, here's the lowdown. After an in-depth description of Ms. Weaver's training as a professional actress, they move on to her movie career beginning with Alien. Moving on, the host says, "Then you did a small little film called Ghostbusters," and the crowd composed of mostly college students and film business professionals goes crazy. The crowd's response was twice that of their enthusiasm for Alien and Gorillas in the Mist.

Weaver makes the comment, "I think that I scared Ivan Reitman a few times on the set," and then they show the infamous bedroom scene between Bill Murray and Weaver ("Do you want this body?").

After showing the lengthy clip, the audience hoots and hollers and the host continues by tell the audience that not only did a comedy about the paranormal do well at the box office, but it out performed the sure-fire hits Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

Though there was no mention of Ghostbusters 2 it was a very enthusiastic and very positive moment for Ghostbusters. Especially when given the nod by film industry greats past and future. This definitely proves that Ghostbusters is still in the public conciousness and truly remains a beloved film franchise. - Troy

More bad news for Ghostbusters 3
Ghostbusters HQ minion AMPGH sends in this update from Cinescape's website. Now while Cinescape has been known to say it's on again off again this appears to be coming straight from the horses mouth so to speak. Sorry Ghostheads, it's just more bad news after another:

Once again, Dan Aykroyd is declaring that there will not be a third Ghostbusters movie. While talking to Cinescape Online Cin City columnist Cindy Pearlman, Aykroyd initially dismisses talk of another sequel, saying, "No, we can't do another one--the rights are all tied up." When pressed a little further, the actor/writer admits, "It's the Ghostbusters. It would be nice to get us all to agree, but impossible." Aykroyd then says, "Well, there's a reason Bill won't agree. Someone once didn't agree with him. Now he doesn't agree with someone. "Listen, Bill is a friend of mine and just because he doesn't want to explore this concept is no reason to impair our friendship. He wants to move on to new work and new things. I can't blame him." - Troy

Site updates
Sorry (again) for lack of updates Ghostheads, I've gotten all your emails and yes, I'm still alive. It's finals week here at WSU and I'm in the process of transfering out to Los Angeles so it's been incredibly stressful and busy around here. I'll be moving from one coast to the other (and this hometown Colorado boy isn't used to such uncertainty). There's a big announcement for GBHQ viewers on the way, something big this summer, something that will blow everyone away, something that might actually spark interest back into this site. Stay tuned. - Troy

Evolution trailer freakin' rules
Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman's new film Evolution really looks promising (not only that but appears to utilize the same Ghostbusters formula (with Dan Aykroyd in a cameo). The latest trailer now showing on most copies of just about every film is also available on the website at http://www.countingdown.com/evolution. I just have to say that it really also makes me feel good about the chances of soon seeing Ghostbusters 3 on the big screen- if this movie is successful we might have hit the honey pot Ghostheads. - Troy

Ramis talks Ghostbusters III plot details
Thanks be to GBHQ minion Cinsound for this tip from the Chicago Citysearch publication:

When Dan Aykroyd was talking about doing "Ghostbusters III," his idea was Ghostbusters go to hell. I was already talking about "Bedazzled" over at Fox and I warned Dan that I couldn't do both, too much overlap. But for "Ghostbusters III," I looked at Dante's "Inferno" and came away with a couple key concepts. - Troy
