"From the Director of 'Ghostbusters'"
Ghostbusters fans rejoice, I see a bright horizon in the future for all of us! Just look at the teaser trailer for Ivan Reitman's latest film Evolution, and make sure that you note that Reitman makes a point that the title card holds a few beats on the fact that the film is "From the Director of 'Ghostbusters.'" I have a good feeling about this film, Ghostheads. Hopefully it will bring some new-found energy into the community! - Troy
Don't discount Ghostbusters 3 yet
Thanks to everyone who alerted me to this Cinescape scoop whilest I was on hiatus. Cinescape magazine's website has this report:By CHRISTOPHER ALLAN SMITH (REPORTING BY ERIC MORO) January 17, 2001
While EON magazine was catching up with EVOLUTION director (and onetime GHOSTBUSTERS helmer) Ivan Reitman about the status of his new genre project, Reitman revealed the GHOSTBUSTERS series may not be as dead as once thought. It was only a few months ago Dan Aykroyd said there would not be another film. However, Reitman said, "Danny [Aykroyd] wrote a very good script [for a third film]. We have not been able to lick the combination of the creative end and the deal problems of making that film so far. So it's always sort of getting side tracked, unfortunately. I wouldn't say it's necessarily dead, but, you know. We're all getting older."GBHQ Minion Cinsound adds in these two cents: "In news related to EVOLUTION, DIC Entertainment just announced it will be producing a half hour animated series based on the summer comedy (next summer, that is). The movie tells the story of a college professor and his rag tag group of friends who must deal with newly arrived aliens that are evolving to take over the world after arriving on a meteorite" .- Troy
"Normal, Ohio" gets the can, so does Aykroyd guest spot
Apparently the premise of John Goodman as a homosexual man living in BFE Ohio just didn't seem to fly and Fox has cancelled the short-lived series. Subsequently, the guest spot that was originally planned for Dan Aykroyd will not even be taped. D'oh! - Troy
Bringing back the glory days of GBHQ
Okay, so it's been incredibly slow lately here on the HQ and for this I apologize. My Brotha From Anotha Motha Drew and I have been busy prepping "A Defining Moment" for shooting this summer. Mix this with the server problems that we've had as of late and well, motivation was at an all-time low. But alas, I'm back in the saddle and thanks to the motivating emails from many of you, I'm ready to tackle all-new projects here on Ghostbusters HQ. Check out the latest updates today, tomorrow I've got a sneak peak of Behind the Ecto and an all-new entry in Journal of a Ghostbuster lined up for you, email me let me know if you have anything that you wish to contribute! - Troy
